Sonic Research Initiative

  • Founded in 2014, the Sonic Research Initiative is a transdisciplinary setting where faculty and graduate students collaborate on projects that explore the full range of potential opened by sonic theory and practice. Powered by a combination of speculative thought and pragmatic application, the SRI is based at York University in Toronto, Canada. The SRI grew out of the research interests of York faculty and students, as well as the robustly attended (un)sound occupation and Tuning Speculation (I, II, and III) workshops and conferences.
